Jump Trading has had its Singapore unit recently onboard one Lars Hornsleth as its Director of Institutional Business Development for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
A Man Fit For The Job
As can be seen through his Linkedin profile, Hornsleth had joined up with the company earlier this month, with the man himself being based in Singapore. The man himself is a notable veteran of the FX industry, boasting thirty years of experience in the space, and spending the majority of it within the APAC region. Alongside this, institutional sales are the primary focus of his work experience, as well.
The man isn’t humble about his experiences either, writing in his LinkedIn profile about how he had contributed to revenue growth and successful business in Europe’s leading banks within the APAC region. Granted, the man’s thirty years in the game and definitely brings results, so he isn’t overconfident, either.
An Extensive Career
Hornsleth will depart from his two-year stint within GAIN Capital as its Vice President in order to join up with Jump Trading. At GAIN Capital, his role focused on heading the company’s institutional business development unit for the APAC region.
Before GAIN, Hornsleth had served with IG Singapore, standing as its Head of Institutional Sales. This position saw him be responsible for the brand building of IG within the APAC region, and he held it for almost four years.
Saxo Bank Performance Still Talked About
It should be noted, however, that he is most often remembered for his time working with Saxo Bank. It was back in early 2004 when he joined up with the Danish bank, serving as an institutional accounts manager within APAC. Later on, he moved to a director position within Saxo Bank’s Singapore entity, and headed the region’s institutional business through this.
Combining his time in both Saxo units, Hornsleth had spent more than a decade with the company. His primary focus when working there was on the development and growth of the institutional business within the company itself. He also oversaw the trading and sales activities across all asset classes for APAC, handling the budget of growing businesses, as well.
As for where he started, Hornsleth’s first step in his career was with Nordea Bank of Denmark, where he gained the position of Senior Manager of Global Markets for the bank and moving to Singapore. From there, he had a similar role at Danske Bank’s Singaporean unit, and even had a short stint outside of the FX industry entirely.
